![]() The alternative is 5w30, which the manual says should only be used under 60 degrees F. I'm not paying almost a hundred dollars for somebody else to change the oil in my (almost) 20year old jeep with some overengineered synthetic. The manager tells me that they don't make 10w30 conventional anymore, and i ned to uparade to some MaxLife some thing or othe at $75 for the oilast changet and filter. The manual calls for 10w30 at this temperature range, so I pull in and ask for 10w30 conventional. In a moment of weakness I stop at Valvoline to get my oil changed real quick. I was going to post about my experience at Valvoline last week, but I will just put it here. I ask you guys is it really that hard to find quality service? I swear everytime i need to go to a shop or something it turns into an expensive nightmare. final bill including uber and the coolant comes out to 325$ The flush gets done gets done and the guy makes me sign a release before letting me go. I end up just paying out of pocket for them and take them back to the Jiffy Lube. I argue with the guy over the phone because he says the car only needs 9 qts. Says that the jiffy lube manager only authorized either 2 gallons of what autozone data says is the right fluid. I Go to the commercial acxount counter to get them rung up. I find that on the shelves the inly thing I definitevly see that says specifically HOATs is Peaks Euro Formula, which is blue in color BTW. I double check WJJeeps and call my local dealership for the specs and confirm that it just needs to be a HOATs type fluid. I check their system to see the requirements for the jeep. I will uber over to the local autozone, purchase the fluid through their account and bring it back. I cool off for a moment and come reach a settlement with the guy. I called out the manager and the fool trys to convince me thats the right stuff. I check the bottles and to my frustration, autozone universal fluid. I said anything that is HOATs approved, zerez G05 or an equivilant.ĭelivery truck from autozone drops off the fluid. He asked me what type of fluid I wanted in and offered to order it for me. He apologized and told me that according his system showed that the green universal was what the jeep called for. ![]() that that was not the right coolant he was putting in. I pulled him off to the side and made it clear AGAIN. As he was performing the flush I walked by and saw in the fill tank on the flush machine is the green universal fluid. I spoke to the manager and made it CLEAR coming in why i needed the fluid flush. Wjjeeps made it clear I need to use a H.O.A.T.s type coolant, I had the green stuff and it was starting to gunk up. I want to start by making it clear that I realized I had the wrong fluid in the radiator. Things went south with the radiator flush. Dropped by jiffy lube today to get an oil change and flush the radiator.
